Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I stand humbly at Your court, empty-handed.

Who else looks after me the way You do? Open Your door, and let me see You.

Sometimes the whole prayer is just: let me see You.
The deeper layer

darmaaday thaadhay darbaar — standing as a humble petitioner at the court. darsan deejai kholiH kivaar — "open the door, grant the darshan." The longing for direct seeing, not just talk about the One.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you are patiently waiting and hoping for?
