The Divine Guru has blessed me with total happiness.

No obstacles block my path, meditating on the incomprehensible, inscrutable Lord. ||1||

In plain words

Happiness — the whole of it — came to me the day the Guru put me to work on something worth doing: keeping the One in mind.

And here is the surprise: once my feet were on that road, the obstacles I feared just were not there. Nothing could block the path.

When your energy is joined to something worth doing, the road ahead clears.
The deeper layer

The best gift is being given good work to do.

Sarab kali-aan means every kind of good, complete happiness. Guru Arjan says the Guru gave it by linking him to service: sayvak apnee laa-i-o sayv. Being handed useful, meaningful work is the blessing, not a burden. Think of the proud feeling when a coach finally trusts you with an important job on the team.

Then comes bighan na laagai — no obstacle catches hold. This happens while the mind rests on the alakh abhayv, the One who cannot be grasped or figured out. The road clears not because the seeker is strong. It clears because the attention is in the right place.

A Question to Sit With

What is a task that feels less like a chore and more like a gift when you do it?
