In plain words

The One has become the one who watches over me — like the safest presence you can imagine, always on my side.

And now, wherever I turn my eyes, I find that presence right there beside me. Nanak says: the One protects and cares for those who belong to it, closer than close.

The One you belong to is not watching from far away — it walks beside you wherever you look.
The deeper layer

The One is right beside you, whichever way you look.

Paarbarahm prabh bha-ay rakhvaalay — the Supreme One has become my protector. Jithai kithai deeseh naalay — wherever I look, I see You with me. Ik Onkar becomes company, not a watcher on a far-off throne. Think of walking into a new school and spotting your best friend in every room.

The last line says khasam partipaalay: the Master cares for and protects those who are His. The word "slave" here is about belonging and being cherished. It is the closeness of being someone's very own.

A Question to Sit With

When do you most feel that you are not alone?
