aisaa gur vadbhaagee paa-i-aa. ||1||
such a Guru is found by great good fortune. ||1||

In plain words

Everyone wanders off sometimes — takes a wrong turn, gets lost. The Guru gently shows the lost one the road again, no scolding, just: here, this way.

To find a Guru like that is the greatest good fortune there is.

Getting lost is ordinary; the great gift is a Guru who quietly points you home again.
The deeper layer

Bhoolay maarag jineh bataa-i-aa — the one who strays is shown the path again. Straying is ordinary, and no punishment follows it; the Guru simply points the way home. Aisaa gur vadbhaagee paa-i-aa — such a Guru is found by great good fortune, that is, by grace rather than by earning.

A Question to Sit With

Who in your life helps you find your way back when you have gone off track — without making you feel bad about it?
