The One is beyond everything and also woven right through everything — far past the world and inside it at the very same time.
Nanak says: every last one of us — every person, every creature — holds out our hands to the One. We all live on what the One gives.
The One is beyond the world and inside it, and we all live on what the One gives.
Aapay avigat aap sang rachnaa — the One is avigat, beyond anything we can see, and also right here with creation. The One is far past the world and woven through it, both at once.
Kaho naanak parabh kay sabh jachnaa — says Nanak, everyone is a beggar before the One. This isn't meant to shame anyone. It is an honest truth we all share. Think of a family dinner table where everyone eats from the same kitchen. No one grows the food, cooks it, and makes the rain fall too. Every being lives on what the One gives. No one is self-made or self-fed.
Name three things you have today that you did not make yourself. Where did they come from?
