Hidden And Right Here

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਆਪਿ ਪਰਗਟਨਾ ॥
aap hee gupat aap pargatnaa.
He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is manifest.
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਪਿ ਅਲਿਪਨਾ ॥੩॥
aap hee ghat ghat aap alipanaa. ||3||
He Himself is in each and every heart; He Himself is unattached. ||3||

In plain words

Sometimes the One feels hidden, tucked out of sight; other times it is right out in the open. Both are true at once.

The One lives inside every single heart — yours, mine, everyone's — and yet stays free, never stuck, never weighed down.

The One is hidden and open at once, living in every heart yet held down by none.
The deeper layer

The One is hidden and out in the open at the same time.

Aap hee gupat aap pargatnaa — the One is hidden, and the One is plain to see. Think of the air. You can't see it, yet you feel it every time you breathe.

Aap hee ghat ghat aap alipanaa — the One lives in each and every heart, and yet stays alipt, unattached. Ghat ghat means every single heart. So the One is fully inside everything, and at the same moment free of everything. Nothing holds the One down.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel the One is hiding — and where is it right out in plain sight?
