In the field of actions and karma, plant the Lord's Name; this opportunity is so difficult to obtain! ||2||

In plain words

Whoever asks for shelter is kept safe — no doubt about it at all.

Your life is like a field, and your actions are the seeds. Plant the Name of the One in it — this is a rare and precious chance, so use it well.

Your actions are seeds — plant good ones while you can.
The deeper layer

The One keeps safe all who come for shelter, and this life is a precious chance to plant the Name.

Saran paray kee raakh-taa naahee sehsaa-i-aa means the One protects those who seek shelter, and there is no doubt about it. Saran means shelter, a safe place.

Karam bhoom har naam bo-ay means "in the field of your actions, plant the Name." Karam means actions, the things we do. Naam means the living presence of the One.

A-osar dulbhaa-i-aa means this chance is very hard to get. Picture a school garden plot you get for just one season. You can leave it to the weeds, or you can plant something good. Your life is that plot, and every action is a seed.

A Question to Sit With

If your actions were seeds, what would you want growing in your field?
