sarab sookh naanak paa-ay sang santan saath. ||4||22||52||
Nanak has found total peace, in the Society of the Saints. ||4||22||52||

In plain words

Let no one imagine there is any other power running things — it is all held in the One's hands.

Nanak says: in the Sangat of the saints, I have found every kind of peace.

It helps to trust that everything is finally held in kind hands.
The deeper layer

Everything rests in kind hands. Mat ko-ee jaanhu avar kachh — let no one think there is any other power at all. Sabh prabh kai haath — everything is in God's hands. It is a deep trust that all doing, in the end, comes from the One.

Think of a kite high on a windy day. It dips and swoops, but the string runs back to one pair of hands.

Then: sarab sookh naanak paa-ay sang santan saath — Nanak has found every kind of peace in the Sangat of the saints. The shabad closes on oneness and belonging.

A Question to Sit With

What worry could you set down if you trusted it was being held?
