Lifted, and Everyone With Me

ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੰਗੀ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥

I myself am liberated, and my companions swim across; my family and ancestors are also saved.

safal sayvaa gurdayv kee nirmal darbaaray. ||3||
Service to the Divine Guru is fruitful; it has made me pure in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

As I am set free, my companions cross over too, and my whole family is lifted along.

Serving the Guru bears fruit, and it made me clear and clean in the One's presence.

When you rise, the people around you often rise with you.
The deeper layer

Being set free is something we share.

Aap mukat sangee taray: I am set free, and my companions cross over too. Kul kutamb udhaaray: my whole family is lifted along. Think of one kid who learns to swim and then helps a little sister float. Freedom here is never a lonely prize.

The second line: safal sayvaa gurdayv kee, serving the Guru bears real fruit. Nirmal darbaaray: it makes me clean and clear in the One's presence. We rise together, never alone.

A Question to Sit With

How might your growing kinder lift the people around you too?
