In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Even the wisest sages who ever lived, even the great ones people bow to, even the being said to hold the whole world on its many heads — none of them ever fully solved the mystery of You.

You are deeper than the deepest mind can reach. And somehow that is not frightening. It is wonderful. There is always more of You to discover.

The greatest minds never reached the bottom of the mystery — and that is a joy, not a defeat.
The deeper layer

Even the greatest minds have never reached the bottom of the One's mystery.

Kabir names the highest beings people could imagine: sanak sanand mahays samaanaa. Sanak and Sanand are wise sages from the old stories, said to be born from the Creator's own mind. Mahays is Shiva. Then comes saykhnaag, Shesh-naag, the great serpent said to hold up the world.

And yet, tayro maram na jaanaa: none of them know Your maram, Your inner mystery. Think of the ocean. The best divers in the world have still not touched every part of its floor. Kabir begins by putting every rank on the same level. Before this mystery, everyone is a beginner.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you'll never fully understand but love anyway?
