In plain words

The One you are looking for lives right inside you. Your own body is the temple, the holy place, and the traveler walking toward it, all at once.

Everything you would carry to a shrine is already here — the incense, the lamps, the offerings, the flowers. You are walking around carrying the whole sacred place with you.

The holy place you are seeking, you are already carrying.
The deeper layer

The holy place you are looking for is right inside you.

Peepaa was a saint-poet whose songs are in the Guru Granth Sahib. Kaa-ya-o dayvaa kaa-i-a-o dayval kaa-i-a-o jangam — the body is the Divine, the temple, and the pilgrim, all together. Peepaa folds the whole map of holy travel into one person. Imagine searching the whole house for your glasses, and they are on your head.

This does not throw the temple away. It moves it. The sacred is not reached by travel. It is recognized within.

A Question to Sit With

How would you treat yourself and others differently if each body were a temple?
