Verse 3 of 3

What Fills the Sky Fills You

ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਿੰਡੇ ਜੋ ਖੋਜੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jo barahmanday so-ee pinday jo khojai so paavai.
The One who pervades the Universe also dwells in the body; whoever seeks Him, finds Him there.
ਪੀਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਪਰਮ ਤਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਲਖਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥
peepaa paranvai param tat hai satgur ho-ay lakhaavai. ||2||3||
Peepaa prays, the Lord is the supreme essence; He reveals Himself through the True Guru. ||2||3||

In plain words

Whatever fills the whole wide sky and everything in it is the same thing that fills you. The great outside and your small inside are made of one single reality.

So whoever looks for it, finds it — right here. It is the deepest truth there is, and the True Guru helps you finally see what was always shining inside you.

The same reality that fills the universe is alive inside you.
The deeper layer

What fills the whole universe also fills you, and a true teacher helps you see it.

Jo barahmanday so-ee pinday — what is in the brahmand, the whole universe, is also in the pind, the body. It is a famous line. The great world and the small one are shown to be one. It is like a single drop of seawater. It holds the same salt as the whole sea.

Param tat — the deepest truth. It is shown by the satgur, the true teacher. The teacher does not hand you something missing. The teacher uncovers what was always there.

A Question to Sit With

What might change in how you see yourself if you and the whole universe share one source?
