In plain words

The true One joins some hearts to the one Truth.

They listen to the most beautiful Word of Bani; true is their service of the true One, and the Name is what makes a life beautiful.

The Name does not only rescue a life; it makes it beautiful.
The deeper layer

The Name is what makes a life beautiful.

The true One joins some hearts to the one Truth. Ootam banee sabad sunaa-ay — they listen to the Guru's highest Word. This is suniai again, deep listening with the whole heart. For them, serving the true One is true work.

The final line is lovely: naanak naam savaaranhaar. Savaaranhaar means the One who makes things beautiful, like someone lovingly getting you ready for a celebration. The Name does more than save a life. It makes that life beautiful.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes a person beautiful, more than how they look?
