Those who find such humble, Holy Saints, are the greatest of the great persons.

I beg for the dust of their feet; I long for the longing for God, my Lord and Master. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

People who find such kind and holy friends are the most fortunate of all.

I would gladly be the dust of their path — that is how much I long to long for the One.

The people worth following are the ones whose kindness makes you want to grow.
The deeper layer

Finding holy people is the greatest fortune, and staying close to them is worth longing for.

Tin kee Dhoor mangah — I ask for the dust of their feet. That is an old picture of deep humility. It means loving and honoring the people further along the path, the way a young player looks up to the team captain.

Then comes a lovely doubling. Ham har loch luchaanee — I long for the longing for the One. Even the wish to want the One is a treasure.

Staying close to them in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — is the steady medicine all through this raag.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone a little ahead of you that you would love to learn from?
