O Saints of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny, listen: serve the Guru, quickly now!

Let your service to the True Guru be your supplies on the Lord's Path; pack them up, and don't think of today or tomorrow. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Friends, do not put it off — begin now.

Let your kindness and service be the supplies you pack for the journey, and do not keep telling yourself ‘tomorrow, tomorrow.’

The best time to start something good is before you have talked yourself out of it.
The deeper layer

Don't wait: start now, and pack kindness for the road.

Bayg baygaalee — quickly now! Satgur sayv kharach har baaDhhu — make service your supplies for the road. Kharach means what you pack for a trip, like snacks and water for a long hike.

Mat jaanhu aaj ke kaalee — don't keep saying "today, tomorrow." This is a warm nudge to begin. A good friend does the same when you keep putting something off. They smile and say, "Let's do it now."

A Question to Sit With

What is one good thing you keep meaning to do ‘tomorrow’? Could today be the day?
