In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

You break fear apart and lift suffering away, O Formless One who loves the ones who love You.

When I turn toward You and hold Your Name in my heart, the whole weight of a thousand wrong turns falls off in a single moment.

The One who loves you breaks your fear apart the moment you turn toward it.
The deeper layer

The One breaks fear, lifts sorrow, and loves those who love back.

The shabad opens with the mangal, the short blessing at the start: One Creator, known by the true Guru's grace. Then come three tender names for the One. Bhav khandan — the breaker of fear. Dukh bhanjan — the remover of suffering. Bhagat vachhal — the One who loves those who love it.

Kot paraaDh mitay khin bheetar — millions of wrong turns dissolve in an instant. That happens the moment the heart holds the Naam, the Name.

Grace is not slow bookkeeping, adding up points for and against. It is a sudden lightness. It is like setting down a heavy box you forgot you were carrying.

A Question to Sit With

What is one worry you would love to feel lift off your shoulders?
