The Divine Light has illuminated me, and I am filled with celestial peace and glory; the unstruck melody of the Lord's Bani resounds within me.

Says Nanak, I have built my eternal home; the Guru has constructed it for me. ||4||5||

In plain words

A light has dawned in me, filling me with calm and quiet honor, and a music with no beginning plays softly inside.

I have made a home that nothing can shake — and it was the Teacher who built it for me.

Peace is an unshakable home that gets built in you when the inner light dawns.
The deeper layer

Peace comes when a light turns on inside.

pargati-o jot — the light breaks out. With it come sahj sukh sobhaa: the easy calm of a settled heart, and a quiet honor. And baajay anhat baanee — a music plays inside that no instrument is making. It is called anhat, "unstruck," because nothing strikes it.

The last line is about a home. nihchal ghar baaDhi-o — I have built a home that nothing can shake. But it was the Teacher who built it. Think of a treehouse a grown-up builds for you, strong enough for any wind. Peace works like that. We do not make it all by ourselves. We let it be built in us.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to be somewhere so safe that nothing outside can shake you?
