In plain words

I come with humble, empty hands, and the Name of the One is my whole support.

The Name is my daily work and my earnings; it is the only thing I gather — and it stays useful here and everywhere beyond.

The best things to build your life around are the ones that stay with you everywhere.
The deeper layer

The Name is all the support, work, and savings a person needs.

mohi maskeen parabh naam aDhaar — I am humble and poor; the Name of the One is my support. Being small here is not sad. It means being open, like an empty cup that has room to be filled.

Then the verse uses words from everyday work. The Name is rojgaar, my job and my earnings. It is the one thing worth sanchan, saving up. Why? Because it is useful halat palat, in this world and the next. Think of savings that work in every country, not just one. This kind of saving goes with you everywhere.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you're building in yourself that you'll carry your whole life?
