In the Society of the Saints, there is bliss and peace.

un sang so paa-ay jis mastak karaam. ||3||
They alone obtain this Society, upon whose foreheads such destiny is written. ||3||

In plain words

Wherever the saints come together, they sing of the One in music and poetry.

In the Sangat there is joy and rest. Whoever finds a place among them carries a blessing on the forehead.

Being in the Sangat is one of life's quiet blessings.
The deeper layer

Joy and rest are found wherever the Sangat gathers.

jah saaDh santan hoveh ikatar — wherever the saints come together. There they sing of the One in music and poetry. SaaDh sabhaa is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. It becomes a place of anad bisraam, joy and rest. Think of a kitchen full of family on a holiday, with singing and laughter.

The last line calls being there a blessing. jis mastak karaam — the one whose forehead carries this grace. It is a gift of belonging, freely given. It is not a prize someone earns.

A Question to Sit With

When has being part of a warm group of people filled you with joy?
