Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Those who carry true trust in their hearts keep seeing the glory of the One, and live in joy that lasts.
Resting at the feet of the complete One who knows every heart, I see the One always present.
In wisdom, the One made me His own, and keeps safe the tender roots of the trusting.
True trust brings a joy that lasts.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Jin kai man saachaa bisvaas — those who hold true trust in their hearts. Bisvaas means trust. They keep seeing the One's glory and live in anad sadaa ulaas, gladness that lasts.
The closing picture is a lovely one: bhagtan kaa ankur raakhi-o. The One keeps safe the ankur of those who love the One. Ankur is a sprout, the first tender green shoot from a seed. Think of a seedling on a windowsill that someone waters and shields from the cold. Grace protects what is only just beginning to grow.
What is something small and good growing in you that deserves gentle care?
