The Creator Lord has worked a wondrous miracle; O Nanak, His glorious greatness is true. ||4||4||28||

In plain words

Every life belongs to the One, who gently turns each heart back home and becomes its helper.

The Maker has worked a quiet wonder. O Nanak, the One's greatness is true, and it lasts.

The gentle turning of a heart back toward home is itself a quiet wonder.
The deeper layer

Coming home is the One's own wonder, a gift and not a prize.

Jin kay jee-a tinai hee fayray — all beings belong to the One, and the One turns them homeward. Aapay bha-i-aa sahaa-ee — the One becomes their helper. So the homecoming in this shabad is grace. It is not something anyone achieved alone. Think of a lost puppy found and carried home. The puppy did not find the way. Someone came looking for it.

The close calls all of this an achraj, a wonder, worked by the karnaihaarai, the Maker. Sach vadi-aa-ee — the One's greatness is sach, real and lasting.

A Question to Sit With

Can you think of a change in yourself or someone you love that felt like a small wonder?
