In plain words

The One's gentle presence is a devoted heart's treasure. It is a resting place full of more comfort and ease than anyone can count.

Day and night, a grateful heart remembers the One who cares for the world. It gives itself over completely, again and again.

Rest is found in the One, and it holds more comfort than you can count.
The deeper layer

Being close to the One is like a home where you can finally rest.

Charan kamal... kot sookh bisraam. Charan kamal means lotus feet, a loving way to speak of the One's presence. That presence is a bisraam, a resting place, full of countless comforts. Think of flopping onto your own bed after a long trip.

Gobind damodar simra-o din rain — I remember the One day and night.

The shabad ends with sad kurbaan, giving yourself over, gladly and completely. It is thankfulness so full that it holds nothing back.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you go, inside or outside, when you need to rest?
