The lifestyle of Your slave is so pure, that nothing can break his love for You. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Nothing at all can break this love.

Your devoted one lives a life so clear and clean.

A love built on a clean life is hard to break.
The deeper layer

A love resting on a clean life cannot be broken.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. It is a quiet promise. kitai parkaar na toota-o pareet — in no way will this love break. The reason is daas tayray kee nirmal reet, the pure way of life of Your devoted one. Nirmal means clean and clear. Think of a house built on solid rock. Storms come, and it stands. The love cannot break because the life under it is clean.

A Question to Sit With

What makes a bond between two people hard to break?
