A Wonder Worth Seeing

ਏਕੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
ayk achraj jan daykhhu bhaa-ee.
O my humble Siblings of Destiny, behold this strange and wonderful thing:
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
dubiDhaa maar har man vasaa-ee.
duality is overcome, and the Lord dwells within his mind.
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
naam amolak na paa-i-aa jaa-ay.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is priceless; it cannot be taken.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥
gur parsaad vasai man aa-ay. ||3||
By Guru's Grace, it comes to abide in the mind. ||3||

In plain words

Friends, come and look at this wonderful thing: the split inside a heart heals, and the One comes to live within.

The priceless Name cannot be grabbed or bought. By grace, it simply comes to stay.

The best thing cannot be bought; it is received as a gift.
The deeper layer

The best thing of all cannot be bought; it is a gift.

Ayk achraj jan daykhhu bhaa-ee — friends, come and see a wonder! DubiDhaa maar har man vasaa-ee — the split inside, the feeling of being two, comes to an end, and the One lives within.

The Name is amolak, priceless. So na paa-i-aa jaa-ay: you cannot just grab it or buy it. Gur parsaad vasai man aa-ay — by the Guru's grace, it comes to live in the mind. It is like a friend's love. No store sells it, and yet it is given to you freely.

A Question to Sit With

What is something wonderful in your life that no amount of money could buy?
