In plain words

I hold the teaching at the very top of my thoughts, like something placed with honor upon my forehead.

And when I do, all my aches and troubles simply fall away.

When you hold the teaching above your own ego, with real respect, the aches you carry start to lift.
The deeper layer

Bowing low before the Guru's teaching makes your troubles feel lighter.

Gur kay charan oopar mayray maathay — the Guru's feet upon my forehead. In Indian culture, touching an elder's feet and then your own forehead is the deepest sign of respect and humility. It means: your teaching goes above my own pride. It is like a player who stops arguing and truly listens to the coach.

The result comes at once. Taa tay dukh mayray saglay laathay — and all my pains are gone. Humility itself is a relief. When the ego steps down below the teaching, everything feels lighter.

A Question to Sit With

Whose wisdom do you respect enough to put above your own first impulse?
