Loving the One brings peace that never runs out, and that love turns into song.
Jaa kee pareet sadaa sukh ho-ay — love for the One brings peace forever. Pareet means love, and sukh means peace. All the advice of the shabad comes together here. Reach for the One, befriend the One, serve the One, hope in the One. It all ends in this: loving the One is peace that never runs out.
Naanak gaavai gur mil so-ay — meeting the Guru, Nanak sings His praise. The praise rises by itself from that meeting. Think of a child who runs to meet a grandparent at the airport, bursting into a happy song.
The mind was being gently advised the whole way through. Now it simply sings. Its restlessness has turned into song.
