In plain words

The one whose good fortune has fully ripened is the one who ends up at the feet of the holy. Sitting there is itself the blessing coming to fruit.

Finding yourself among the good is grace coming to fruit.
The deeper layer

Guru Arjan closes by saying that finding yourself among good people is grace coming to fruit.

Kaho naanak jaa kaa pooraa karam: "says Nanak, the one whose karam is full." Karam here means grace, the One's kindness, like good fortune ripening. Tis bhaytay saaDhoo kay charan: that person reaches the feet of the Holy, the company of the good.

Think of a mango on a tree. You cannot pull it into ripeness. One day it is simply ready. Guru Arjan sees good company the same way. Being among the good is not luck you earned. It is grace arriving.

A Question to Sit With

Looking back, was there a good person who came into your life at just the right time?
