Your face shall be radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Keep the teacher, the teacher, close in your thoughts, my friend. Do that, and you will stand bright and unashamed wherever you are -- with nothing to hide.

Keep what is wise close in your thoughts, and you can stand anywhere with nothing to hide.
The deeper layer

The Rahao. Guroo guroo jap meet hamaaray -- remember the Guru, the Guru, O my friend. Mukh oojal hoveh darbaaray -- your face will be radiant in the Court. Oojal mukh (a bright face) is Gurbani's image for a clear conscience -- standing anywhere without shame. The doubled 'Guru, Guru' is the warm, direct address of a friend.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel like you have nothing to hide -- like you can look anyone in the eye?
