Ichh punee pooray gur milay — longings are fulfilled on meeting the pooray gur, the perfect guide. Naanak tay jan sufal falay — O Nanak, such people become sufal, fruitful, and they flourish.
Nanak ends with a picture from farming, and it is a generous one. Think of an apple tree in autumn, its branches heavy with fruit that anyone can pick. A life lined up with the teaching does not just receive. It produces. It bears fruit that others can share.
