The whole world is engrossed in fear.

Those who have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as their Support, feel no fear. ||1||

In plain words

Much of the world walks around tangled up in fear — worried about losing, about failing, about what comes next. But the one who leans on the Name as their support does not carry that fear.

Most of the world swims in fear; a support underneath you is what quiets it.
The deeper layer

Many people live with fear, but leaning on the Name gives you something solid to stand on.

Bhai meh rachi-o sabh sansaaraa — the whole world is soaked in fear. Fear of losing, of failing, of what comes next. Tis bha-o naahee jis naam aDhaaraa — there is no fear for the one whose support is the Name. Naam, the Name, means keeping the living presence of the One in mind. ADhaaraa means support, the thing that holds you up.

The line is kind, not scolding. Fear is simply the water most people swim in. What quiets it is having something steady underneath you. It is like learning to swim with a float. The water is just as deep, but you stop panicking.

A Question to Sit With

What is the support underneath you that helps your own worries settle?
