Let Truth Live in You and Longings Find Their Answer

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਬਸਾਈ ॥
har kee kathaa rid maahi basaa-ee.
Enshrine the Lord's Sermon within your heart,
ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
man baaNchhat saglay fal paa-ee. ||2||
and you shall obtain all the desires of your mind. ||2||

In plain words

Let the beautiful truth about the One live inside your heart.

Then you will find that what your heart most deeply longs for begins to come true.

Let the truth live in your heart, and your deepest longings quietly find their answer.
The deeper layer

Let the story of the One live in your heart, and your deepest longings find their answer.

Har kee kathaa rid maahi basaa-ee — let the kathaa of the One settle rid maahi, in the heart. Kathaa means story. It is the telling and hearing of who the One is.

Man baaNchhat saglay fal paa-ee — you will get all the fruits your mind wishes for.

This is not magic wish-granting, like a genie. It means something deeper. When the heart is rooted in the One, what we want slowly changes shape. Our deepest wishes get sorted out and fulfilled from the inside.

Think of a plant turned toward the sun. It doesn't need someone to tell it what it wants. Once it faces the light, it grows just as it should.

A Question to Sit With

What is something your heart truly longs for — not just wants for a moment, but truly?
