Verse 4 of 5

When the Name Is Second Nature, Tasks Fall Into Place

ਰਸਨਾ ਗੀਧੀ ਬੋਲਤ ਰਾਮ ॥
rasnaa geeDhee bolat raam.
Their tongues learn the habit of chanting the Lord's Name,
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੩॥
pooran ho-ay saglay kaam. ||3||
and all their works are brought to perfection. ||3||

In plain words

Little by little, the tongue grows used to speaking the Name. It becomes second nature.

And all of life's tasks quietly fall into place.

When the Name becomes second nature, life's tasks quietly fall into place.
The deeper layer

This one says that when saying the Name becomes a habit, life falls into place.

rasnaa geeDhee bolat raam — the tongue gets used to saying Raam, the One's Name. GeeDhee means grown used to it, the way a path gets worn by many footsteps.

This is simran, remembering the One, becoming natural. It is not forced repeating. It is a groove worn smooth by love.

Think of riding a bike. At first you think about every push of the pedal. Later you just ride, and you can enjoy the view.

When the inside of life is set in order this way, pooran ho-ay saglay kaam — all the tasks come to completion. They fall into place on their own.

A Question to Sit With

What is a good habit that used to take effort but now feels automatic to you?
