However Restless the World, He Sets You Across

ਮਹਾ ਤਪਤਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
mahaa tapat saagar sansaar.
The world-ocean is burning hot!
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
parabh khin meh paar utaaranhaar. ||2||
In an instant, God saves us, and carries us across. ||2||

In plain words

This world can feel like a scorching, restless sea. But the One can lift you out and set you safely across in a single instant — no long struggle required.

However hot and restless the world feels, the One can set you across in an instant.
The deeper layer

Life can feel like a hot, stormy sea. The One can carry you across it in a single moment.

Mahaa tapat saagar sansaar — the world is a hugely hot ocean. Tapat means burning heat. It names how restless and draining everyday life can feel. Think of a summer afternoon so hot you can hardly think.

Against that comes parabh khin meh paar utaaranhaar — the One carries you across khin meh, in an instant.

The speed is the comfort. Rescue is not a far-off reward you wait years for. It is right here, ready now.

A Question to Sit With

When everything feels like "too much," what helps you find calm quickly?
