Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The whole arc of a life — its beginning, its changes, its ending — rests in the One's care. So keep that boundless One in mind with every breath and every bite of food.
This one says that your whole life, from start to finish, is held in the One's care.
Janam jaraa mirat jis vaas — birth, growing old, and death are all in the One's keeping. So there is no need to dread the stages of life. The verse hands them to the samrath, the One who can do all things.
Then it turns to practice: so samrath simar saas giraas — remember that One with each breath and each bite of food. The most ordinary rhythms, breathing and eating, carry the remembering.
Think of a baby asleep in a parent's arms. The whole journey is held safely, so the fear drains out of it.
Could you turn an everyday thing — a breath, a meal — into a tiny moment of remembering?
