In plain words

The teacher who leads from darkness to light has opened my eyes, so that I can truly see.

The confusion that once clouded me has cleared, and the care and effort I offered have borne fruit.

When the teaching opens your eyes, the fog of confusion clears and your loving effort bears fruit.
The deeper layer

This short shabad opens with the Rahao. Naytar pargaas kee-aa gurdayv — "the Divine Guru has brought light to the eyes." This is both literal and inner: eyes opened to see clearly, and the mind's eye opened to understanding. Bharam ga-ay — "doubt/confusion has gone." Bharam is the wandering, muddled state of a mind that can't see straight; when it lifts, everything clarifies. And pooran bha-ee sayv — "service has been fulfilled" — the loving effort offered was not in vain. Light, clarity, and fulfilled devotion, all in two lines.

A Question to Sit With

When has something finally "clicked" for you, so that a confusion you'd carried suddenly cleared?
