Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In my thoughts, my words, and my actions, let me keep the One I love held close.

I have simply come and taken shelter in that presence, and there I am at rest.

Let thought, word, and action all turn the same way — toward the One — and rest there.
The deeper layer

The closing signature gathers the whole self into remembrance. Man bach karam — "in mind, word, and deed" — the classic trio of a whole life: what you think, say, and do, all turned the same way. There is no split between inner belief and outer action; remembrance runs through all three. And the final posture is sarnaa-ee — sanctuary, shelter. After a shabad of healing and calm, it ends in the safest place of all: simply resting, whole-hearted, in the presence of the One.

A Question to Sit With

What would it look like for your thoughts, your words, and your actions to all point in the same direction?
