In plain words

With the help of those wise friends, I finally get to sing the praises of the One who holds every good thing, the ocean of all that is good.

Meeting the One, I have found a deep peace and gladness. My life feels whole and worthwhile, as if, after a long dark night, a bright morning has dawned for me.

When your longing finally meets what it was reaching for, it feels like morning after a long night.
The deeper layer

When your longing finally meets what it was reaching for, it feels like morning after a long night.

Sant parsaad gaa-ay gun saagar — by the grace of the wise, I sing the praises of the Ocean of all goodness. Janam janam ko jaat bahoraa speaks of being set free after countless lifetimes. You can feel it as a very long search finally coming to an end.

The closing picture is dawn. Safal savayraa — a fruitful morning, a bright new day. Kirtaarath means a life that has done what it came to do.

The shabad opened with thirst, day and night. It ends at daybreak, full of joy. It is like waking on the first morning of the summer holidays after a long, hard school year. The journey runs all the way from longing to arriving.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that felt worth every bit of the wait once you finally reached it?
