Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Even if I became a deer living in the forest, eating only fruit and roots -- by grace, I would give myself, over and over, to my One. Again and again, I belong to you.

In any life, in any form, the one thing worth doing is to give yourself to the One.
The deeper layer

A Bairaagan love-poem of total devotion. The conceit: in any form, the soul's one constant would be love of the One. Even a deer in the forest would still give itself to the One by the Guru's grace -- because what matters is the offering of the self, not the outer form of life.

A Question to Sit With

Is there something you would still love no matter where life placed you?
