Grant Your Grace, and bless us with the dust of the feet of the Saints; Nanak yearns for this peace. ||4||9||130||

In plain words

Whoever You let truly see You — You give that gift because they kept the company of the wise.

So be kind, and let me be like the humble dust at the feet of those good people. That closeness is the one peace I long for.

The peace we're really after is often just closeness to good, wise people.
The deeper layer

The peace we are really after is being close to good, wise people.

Jis no tumeh dikhaa-i-o darsan — the one You let see You. SaaDhsangat kai paachhai — because of the company of the wise. SaaDhsangat means the gathering of good, holy people. The seeing is a gift, and the doorway to it is good company.

The last wish is Dhoor dayh santan kee — give me the dust of the good people's feet. It is a joyful humility: wanting only to be near those who love the One. It is like being happy just to sit with the older kids who are kind to everyone. Sukh naanak ih baachhai — this is the peace Nanak longs for. Not fame or greatness, just closeness to goodness. The longing that opened the shabad lands here.

A Question to Sit With

Whose company leaves you feeling more peaceful and more yourself?
