ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
jai ghar keerat aakhee-ai kartay kaa ho-ay beechaaro.
In that house where the Praises of the Creator are chanted
ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਵਰਹੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
tit ghar gaavhu sohilaa sivrahu sirjanhaaro. ||1||
- in that house, sing the Songs of Praise, and meditate in remembrance on the Creator Lord. ||1||

In the home where the One's praises are sung, sing those songs too, and keep the Maker in mind.
Wherever the One is being praised, join in and keep the Maker in mind.
This is the opening shabad of Kirtan Sohila -- the prayer sung at bedtime and at the close of a life. "In that house where the Creator's praises are sung" names the gathered Sangat as the true home. The instruction is simple: where praise is happening, join it and remember.
