In plain words

As a pure gift, not a paycheck, I received the One Name — freely given. And ever since, I live in a quiet I didn't have before: peace, natural ease, a settled gladness, a place to truly rest.

The best gift is the one you could never have earned — and it brings a settled, natural ease.
The deeper layer

This one says the best gift is one you could never have earned.

Bakhsees vajahu mil ayk naam — I received the One Name as bakhsees, a gift and blessing. The Name means the One's presence. A gift is different from wages you earn. That difference is the whole point. This is grace, not a paycheck.

And what does the gift bring? Sookh sahj aanand bisraam. Sookh is peace. Sahj is natural, easy calm, with nothing forced. Aanand is joy. Bisraam is rest.

This is not a thrill that spikes and fades, like a sugar rush. It is more like settling into a warm bed at night. You are resting in something that was steady all along.

A Question to Sit With

What is the difference between happiness that spikes and fades, and a quiet ease that stays?
