True honor is obtained through the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the True Lord. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Without the teacher, everyone wanders, lost in doubt. Without the Name, there is real pain. But those who keep the Name become turned toward the teaching, and true honor comes from the sight of the True One.
Without the teacher we wander; with the Name we turn toward the light and find real honor.
The dark and light contrast: without the Guru, doubt and pain; with the Name, one becomes Gurmukh. Honor comes not from status but from darshan -- the blessed vision (cf. caste-honor dissolved into relation with the One).
