I am filled to overflowing, joyfully swept up in the love of the One. It is like the happiest feeling you can imagine, brimming over — my whole heart glowing with it.
Love for the Source can fill you up until your whole heart glows.
Maato har rang maato — "intoxicated, intoxicated with the Lord's love." Gurbani often uses the language of joyful intoxication to describe being swept up in divine love — not a dulling but a heightening, a brimming-over of the heart. The doubled maato mirrors the overflow. The whole shabad will play on this image of a sweet drink and a warm glow, all pointing to the same thing: love for the One received as a gift.
A Question to Sit With
What is a feeling of joy so full it seems to spill over the edges of you?
