Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
In Your company I am filled with joy. In the woods, the fields, and every world there is, I feel peace and the highest bliss. My resting place is lovely, and my heart blossoms wide open. Just to catch sight of You, I find this happiness.
When the Beloved is near, joy spills out, and the whole world feels like home.
Sang tumaarai mai karay anandaa — in Your company I am full of anand, joy. The longing of the first verse starts to be answered by presence. Van tin taribhavan — forests, fields, and the three worlds, meaning all of creation. The joy of nearness fills everything. When the heart is with the One, everywhere becomes home.
Ih man bigsandaa — this mind blossoms. This is vigaas, a favorite Gurbani picture of the heart opening like a flower. And it all comes from darsan, the blessed sight of the Beloved. Think of the first morning of a holiday at your grandparents' house. The same fields look brighter, just because you are with them.
Where, or with whom, does your heart "blossom open" and feel most at home?
