Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One draws such a person close and clears away the fog of doubt. Through kindness poured freely, they arrive at the highest, most settled place.

The One draws you close, clears the fog, and grace brings the highest peace.
The deeper layer

Coming close to the One is a gift that the One gives.

Aapay maylay — the One does the joining. Bharam chukaa-ay — and clears away doubt. Doubt is like fog on a car window. You cannot see where you are going until it lifts.

Gur parsaad means by the Guru's grace, a kindness given freely and never earned. By that grace the seeker reaches param pad, the highest and most settled place.

The seeker's own effort still matters. But the meeting itself is a gift.

A Question to Sit With

When has a worry or doubt lifted not by effort, but almost on its own?
