The teaching has shown me there is truly no other. So tell me — who else would I turn to, whom else could I hold sacred, when there is only the One?
This one says there is only One, so there is no one else to turn to.
Gur kahi-aa avar nahee doojaa — "the Guru has said there is no other." Doojaa means a "second," anything apart from the One.
Kis kaho daykh kara-o an poojaa — "so tell me, whom else should I look to and worship?"
This is the Oneness of earlier songs coming back. It is not a put-down of how others worship. It is the simple logic of Ik Onkar, "there is One." When there is only One, there is no "other" to turn toward.
Think of a family that shares one home. Wherever you go in the house, you are still at home.
If there is really only One behind everything, does that make the “others” less, or more?
