Live From Love and the World Becomes a Helper

ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾਸੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
maa-i-aa daasee bhagtaa kee kaar kamaavai.
Maya is the slave of the Lord's devotees; it works for them.
ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
charnee laagai taa mahal paavai.
One who falls at their feet attains the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੬॥
sad hee nirmal sahj samaavai. ||6||
He is forever immaculate; he is absorbed in intuitive peace. ||6||

In plain words

For the ones who live from love, the whole shimmering world stops being their master and becomes their helper.

Bow low at their feet, learn humbly, and a door opens into the Presence of the One.

There you rest, spotless forever, in a settled and easy calm.

Live from love, and the world that once ruled you becomes a helper instead.
The deeper layer

This one says that when you live from love, the world becomes your helper.

Maa-i-aa daasee bhagtaa kee kaar kamaavai — for the devotees, maa-i-aa becomes a servant and works for them. The world's stuff is still there. It just no longer runs the show. Think of a phone. It can be a helpful tool in your hand, or the boss that tells you what to do all day.

Charnee laagai taa mahal paavai — whoever falls at their feet reaches the mahal, the inner palace of the One's Presence. "Falling at the feet" means bowing low in humility and learning from them.

Sad hee nirmal sahj samaavai — forever spotless, they settle into sahj, the natural, easy calm of a soul in tune. That flip is the teaching: what once owned you now serves you.

A Question to Sit With

Can you think of something that controls you now, but could become a helpful tool if you related to it differently?
