In plain words

My deepest wish came true — the One I longed for came home to my heart. At that meeting, songs of joy rose up; my whole heart thrilled with love and delight. Singing those glad songs, everything good in me rejoiced, and my worries lost their grip. With hands pressed together I make one prayer: that day and night I stay soaked in this love. The Beloved and the soul delight in each other now — my wish is truly fulfilled.

When what your heart longed for finally comes home, everything in you sings.
The deeper layer

The closing stanza (||4||1||). The longing resolves in reunion: ham ghar saajan aa-i-aa — "my Friend came home." Mangal gaa-i-aa — songs of joy. For a non-adversarial contemporary application, the literal's friend/enemy contrast (dusat vi-aapay, "enemies are unhappy") is turned into joy overcoming inner worry; the source itself retains the social contrast. Rain din ras bhinnee-aa — "drenched in delight night and day." The chhant ends in fulfilled union.

A Question to Sit With
