Remember, O my mind, the One who takes away pain and quiets fear, the true king of all.
Beautiful and kind, the great Lover, the friend of everyone who loves — this is simply the One's nature: to cherish.
The perfect One, who loves those who love, gives the heart exactly what it truly longs for.
The One lifts us up out of the deepest, darkest place; so let the Name live in your mind. The wise, the seekers, the singers, the quiet sages — all sing the countless good of the One. Please be kind to me, boundless One, my king.
It is simply the One's nature to love those who love. Kindness is who the One is.
More names keep coming: Daamodar, Har raa-i-aa, the One who is King, and Sareerango, the great Lover. The key line is bhagat vachhal birdaa-i-aa. Bhagat vachhal means loving to those who love Him. Birad means one's very nature. That word matters. The One is not talked into kindness by our worship. Kindness is what the One is. Think of the sun. It does not shine on you because you asked nicely. Shining is simply what it does.
Tam anDh koop tay uDhaarai — the One lifts us out of the deep, dark pit. The weight falls on being lifted out, not on the pit. It is a picture of rescue and hope.
Sur siDh gan ganDharab mun jan — gods, wise masters, heavenly singers and quiet sages all sing together. It is the whole universe turned in one direction: many voices, one song.
Is there someone in your life whose kindness to you feels less like a reward and more like just who they are?
