In plain words

O my heart, take hold of the one steady support — the One — and set down the anxious hoping in others.

Nanak says: when you keep the Naam in mind, the tangled things in your life quietly come right. Lean on what is steady, and the rest sorts itself out.

Take hold of the one steady support and let anxious hoping go — lean on what is steady, and the tangles quietly come right.
The deeper layer

Hold on to the One support, and the tangles of your life come right.

Dhar jee-aray ik tayk — O soul, hold the one support — and laahi bidaanee aas, let go of hopes placed in others and outside things. The promise is quiet and practical: naam dhi-aa-ee-ai kaaraj aavai raas — keeping the Naam in mind resolves your affairs. Lean here and things come right. The "Dhadha" Pauri follows, on the wandering mind coming to rest.

A Question to Sit With

When everything feels tangled, what is the one steady thing you can hold onto to help it settle?
